What the Device Manager collects

  • Mycroft’s Device Manager (the agent installed on each computer) reports device security and inventory metadata back to Mycroft.

    It can include:

    • Hardware specs (CPU, RAM, disk space)

    • Operating system and version

    • Encryption status (for example, FileVault, BitLocker)

    • Password protection status (availability depends on OS and configuration)

    • Antivirus status

    • Installed software inventory

    What admins can see in Mycroft

    Admins can typically see:

    • Basic device metadata (CPU, OS, memory, disk size)

    • Encryption and other posture/compliance checks

    • Antivirus status (when detectable)

    • Device-owner assignment (where applicable)

    • Last sync status

    Performance impact

    The Device Manager is designed to be non-disruptive and uses minimal system resources.

    What Mycroft does not collect

    Mycroft does not inspect or log internet traffic, packet contents, or browsing activity.
