Why is password protection not being detected?

Password protection can only be detected in macOS and if the MDM profile is installed.

When MDM profile is installed, a password status check runs on all relevant devices during each sync. However, it can take up to 10 minutes for a computer to complete the check, so the reported status may not update until the next sync

Mycroft cannot detect password protection on Linux operating systems like Fedora and Ubuntu.

In all cases, when password protection detection is unavailable your compliance status will not be affected and the check will be disabled. Proof of password protection can be manually added to Mycroft’s automated tests for compliance purposes.
