Regenerating Policy Content

Last updated: March 25, 2026

Mycroft can generate policy content in two situations:

1. When starting a new custom policy from scratch: After you complete the Add custom policy form and select Add policy, the policy detail page opens in a Not started state. Select Start from scratch and Mycroft uses your policy name and description to generate an initial draft across the policy sections. Review and adjust this content before publishing.

2. In the Policy content section of an existing policy: A Re-generate content button appears in the top-right corner of the Policy content section when editing a draft. Selecting it replaces the current content of that section with a newly generated version based on your latest organization context.

Regenerating the Policy content section

To regenerate the Policy content section:

  1. Open the policy in the editor (draft mode).

  2. Scroll to the Policy content section.

  3. Select Re-generate content in the top-right corner of that section.

  1. Wait for Mycroft to finish. The section updates and saves automatically when complete.

  2. Review the new content, make any manual adjustments, and select Save changes.

Important: Regenerating the Policy content section permanently overwrites whatever was there before. If you want to keep a copy of the existing text, export or download the policy before regenerating.

Note: The Re-generate content option is only available for the Policy content section. The other sections — Purpose, Scope, Compliance, Enforcement, and Policy review and modification — must be written or edited manually.
