Risk Impact
Last updated: November 12, 2025
This article describes how to evaluate and score the potential impact of a risk within Mycroft. Impact scoring measures the severity of consequences if a risk occurs, helping prioritize which risks require stronger mitigation or monitoring.
Risk score | Impact |
1 | Negligible: Minimal or no impact on operations, finances, or reputation. |
2 | Minor: Slight impact with limited disruption or financial loss. |
3 | Moderate: Noticeable impact causing some disruption and moderate financial or reputational damage. |
4 | Major: Significant impact with substantial disruption, financial loss, or reputational harm. |
5 | Catastrophic: Severe impact threatening the organization's viability or causing major financial/reputational damage. |
Each risk should be assigned an impact rating based on potential business, financial, legal, and reputational effects to support consistent and effective risk evaluation.
