Publishing a Document

Overview
Publishing a document makes it available for compliance and creates a fixed version for audit purposes. Published documents can satisfy linked controls. Publishing replaces any previously published version, but old versions are preserved in version history.
When to Use
You have added evidence artifacts and the document is ready for auditor visibility.
You need the document satisfy linked controls and update their status.
You are releasing a new version after adding or updating evidence.
How to Publish a Document
To publish a document:
Navigate to Compliance → Documents and open the document (click the document name).
Go to the Evidence tab.
Ensure you have added at least one evidence artifact to the draft section.
Click Publish in the draft card header.
In the Publish document dialog, review the message: publishing will replace any previously published version and make the document visible to auditors.
Click Publish document to confirm, or Cancel to close without publishing.
After publishing, the document status changes to "Published". Published documents can satisfy linked controls. Document tests pass when you publish evidence.
Important: Publishing replaces the previously published version. Old published versions are preserved in version history for audit purposes.
Draft vs Published Versions
Draft: Evidence artifacts you're working on. Drafts are not visible to auditors and do not satisfy controls.
Published: Fixed version available for compliance. Published versions are visible to auditors and can satisfy linked controls.
You can make further edits to the document after publishing. Click the Create new version button to create a new draft. Create a new published version by publishing again.
