Creating a Custom Document

Overview
Custom documents let you create evidence collections specific to your organization. You set the name, description, and owners. After creation, you add evidence artifacts and link the document to controls.
When to Use
You need a document that is not in the default set.
You want to create evidence for a custom control.
You need to organize evidence that doesn't fit existing default documents.
How to Create a Custom Document
To create a new custom document:
Navigate to Compliance → Documents.
Click Add document (or the primary create button in the header).
Fill in the required fields:
Name (required): A descriptive name for the document.
Description (required): Explain what this document is for and what kinds of evidence might be applicable.
Optionally add General or business owner and Security owner.
Submit the form to create the document.
After creation, the new document appears in the Documents list with a status of "Not started". Navigate to the document to add evidence artifacts.
To connect your custom document to controls, navigate to the Document page → Controls tab and click the Add controls button.
