Evidence v1 → v2 Migration

Last updated: March 30, 2026

Overview

If your organization used an earlier version of Mycroft's Evidence system (Evidence version 1), you may need to migrate to the current Documents & Evidence system (Evidence version 2). Migration moves evidence from the old system to the new document-based structure.

When Migration Applies

  • Your organization was using Evidence v1 before upgrading to Documents & Evidence.

  • You used to manually upload Evidence directly to controls and manually update Control status.

How Migration Works

  • Migration is handled automatically during product upgrades.

  • Evidence v1 items are converted to document artifacts in Evidence v2.

  • Linked controls and metadata are preserved during migration.

  • You may need to review migrated documents and ensure evidence artifacts are correctly organized.

  • In some cases, Evidence v1 items may appear as duplicates within Documents. If you notice redundant artifacts after migration, you may clear up duplicates by deleting misplaced artifacts from unrelated Documents.

Note: If you encounter migration issues or have questions about migrated evidence, contact Mycroft support for assistance.
